Meet our youth ministry advisors!
Our team of advisors aid the middle and high school youth throughout the year planning meetings, sharing insight and advice, chaperoning events, and more. Thanks to our advisors we are able to effectively serve the youth and the parish through innovative programs and fulfilling service projects.
My name is Cassie and I teach 4th and 5th grade at Franklin Elementary, receiving my bachelor’s from the University of Nebraska Omaha. I attended Central High School and have been involved in youth group ever since! I have served as a youth group advisor for the past 14 years. I appreciate the youth ministry program at St. Roberts because it has allowed me to stay involved in the parish and the youth group has always been another family to me. I truly enjoy watching the youth of this parish bring so much joy to those they serve through this ministry!
Hi, my name is Lauren and I'm a recent graduate of Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri with my degree in Non-profit Leadership. I currently work at Big Brothers Big Sisters as a Development Associate. I began my journey with youth ministry when I was in sixth grade with VBS, participated in high school while attending Duchesne, and have continued with this program for 10 years now! I love youth ministry because it has opened so many doors to life-long friendships, unforgettable experiences, and countless leadership opportunities to grow and truly find myself.
Hi! I am Rachel. I attended Duchesne Academy and now I am at Drake University studying Elementary and Special Education. I have been in youth group since my freshman year of high school. Over the years, youth group has given me so many opportunities to serve and lead. I have really enjoyed traveling to the reservation year after year on our mission trip, creating friendships with the children of the community. Youth group is a great way to stay involved with the parish because it gives us the chance to meet new people from our parish, but other parishes around Omaha too.
My name is Danny Podjenski and have been an active part of the youth group since 2004. I attended Creighton Prep and the University of Nebraska Omaha. I currently work as a science teacher at Omaha South High School. Some of my most cherished memories from high school were at St. Roberts Youth Group and I hope to contribute to the youth group legacy. I am so excited to give other young adults the same wonderful opportunities with growing their relationship closer to God, giving back to the parish community, and developing into the next great parishioners.
My name is Ben and I’ve been in youth group since 2007. I graduated from Creighton Prep in 2011 and then attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln studying business and marketing. I currently live and work in New York, but assist in the planning of leadership development for the youth and help plan mission trip programming. I partake in various trips like NCYC and our mission trips to the reservation every summer and winter. I’ve stayed active in the youth group even after graduating high school because this group showed me how to make a meaningful difference in my community. I enjoy helping the youth of our parish find that passion for serving others.
I'm Abby and I have been involved with youth ministry for 7 years. I attended Marian High School and now I am a student at University of Nebraska at Omaha studying to be an art teacher. I appreciate youth ministry because the youth group is a second family to me. It is also a great way to get out into communities and serve them.
My name is Tom and I work as a counselor at Creighton Prep. I am the lead advisor that runs our middle school youth program. I enjoy working with the youth ministry program because it is exciting to see young people grow in their faith and have fun throughout that experience!
My name is Neva and I have been involved with youth ministry since 2007. I attended Marian High School, then went to the University of Nebraska Omaha to study International Studies with minors in Latin American Studies and Economics. I currently am a Project Leader at No More Empty Pots. SRB Youth Ministry was my safe place in high school. It helped me develop my leadership skills and give back to others. I love seeing it do the same for these high school students. We all have different talents and we put them together to make a real difference.
