Grade 8

Dear 8th Grade Parents,

Welcome. My name is Keery Wolf. I will be your child’s Religious Education teacher this year. It is the big year, Confirmation. By now, your child will have most likely spent 7 years learning about Catholicism. This year, we want them to learn how to live their faith. We have been using a great curriculum written by Matthew Kelly and a group called Dynamic Catholic. It was written specifically for today’s youth to prepare them for confirmation.

There will be no homework. There will be no tests. We will be engaging each other in meaningful dialogue and reflecting on what it all means for today’s Catholic teenager. We will be planting a seed of faith that will hopefully stay with them and blossom as they go into high school and beyond.

We invite you to go to the website dynamiccatholic.com and look around. The entire curriculum is available online. We will have the journals and will watch the videos and/or read the material as a group. There is only one rule for participation, either you write your journal answer or you have to give a response orally to the class. I never make students speak if they don’t want to. I let the students know that I do read the journals, so I can get to know them better. I will comment back to what they have written too.

The website says exactly what I believe:

“We hope this program will not only prepare young Catholics for the Sacrament of Confirmation in a dynamic way, but also teach and inspire them to respond and cooperate with God’s grace in all the circumstance of their daily lives, long after their Confirmation has passed.”

I look forward to getting to know your child this year and helping prepare him/her for Confirmation. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Religious Education office or email me at  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Blessings,

Keery Wolf
