Supports the Pastor in his role as leader of the parish and assists as needed for the good of the entire parish and its parishioners. The Parish Trustees confer with the Pastor to assist with decisions, offer assessment as to effective approaches, and support his decisions. Time commitment can be up to two hours monthly and can be variable.

Advises and assists the Pastor in all financial matters concerning St. Robert’s Parish and St. Robert’s School. Responsible for establishing and monitoring annual budgets, financial auditing and reporting, and managing parish assets and liabilities. Has oversight on school tuition, and regular and special offertory receipts as well as special projects and works closely with the Business Manager and Office of Stewardship to assist with their responsibilities. Committee meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 a.m. and as needed for sub-committee work. Total commitment ranges from five to 10 hours monthly.

The trust provides ongoing financial support for St. Robert’s religious, charitable, and educational purposes. Members meet monthly with the Finance Committee and set investment policy, select and oversee professional investment managers to handle the assets of the endowment, and provide an ongoing review of the performance of investment managers. Time commitment averages five to 10 hours monthly.

The Technology Committee provides counsel and advice on issues related to communications and information technology throughout the parish and school to serve the entire parish membership. It works with parish leadership and staff to provide advice, vision, and guidance concerning communications, infrastructure and equipment. Serves the parish through its work with future opportunities and whenever tasked with current problems. Assists with troubleshooting as well as devices such as servers, personal computers, Internet, security cameras, alarms, and so forth. Time commitment involves a two-hour monthly meeting and additional time as projects may require from time to time.

All volunteers in the parish that will be working with children 18 years of age and younger, must be Safe Environment certified. Safe Environment classes are offered through the Archdiocese of Omaha. If you need a renewal, contact the Religious Education Office.

Volunteers patrol the St. Robert’s parking lot in their cars during Masses and special occasions. The objective is to deter crime and protect parishioners and visitors. Volunteers patrol for two-hour shifts in pairs using their cars marked with magnetic signs and a flashing roof light. Each volunteer contributes two hours of service two or three times each year (announced a week in advance in the church bulletin).

Provides accurate counts of all Sunday and Holy Day financial contributions made through the church offertory. Prepares receipts for deposit by the business manager and posts individual contributions to the parish records for each household. They safeguard receipts during the sorting and counting process, assure accuracy of receipts and record-keeping, and provide other reports as required by the business manager. Each Monday morning, six volunteers spend two hours or more sorting and counting, and two others spend three or more hours recording the contributions.

|
Volunteers use a vendor’s software to compile and format the parish bulletin each week before it is published. They transcribe copy, announcements, and information of interest to parishioners that promotes the work of the parish and its many ministries and groups as well as events and services in the community. The work can be somewhat variable, generally from eight to 10 hours each week.
