An organized basketball league provides recreation and fellowship for men in the parish. League games are scheduled on Sunday evenings for a four-month season beginning in mid-November. A volunteer commissioner organizes teams, hires and pays referees, and supervises games. An assistant coordinates scorekeepers, and team captains manage players on their teams. Apart from time spent in games, during the season the commissioner and assistant will contribute two or more hours weekly and team captains a half hour each week.
